Is it difficult to manage school and a sorority?
College can be very challenging, but each chapter at SFA has a GPA requirement for all of their members to uphold to make sure everyone is staying on top of their grades! At Alpha Chi Omega, each member is expected to complete a certain amount of study hours to ensure we are taking care of our academics first – that’s what we’re all here for in the first place!
Is there a disadvantage to not rushing as a freshman?
There isn’t a disadvantage at all!! No matter your age or grade classification, we encourage anyone and everyone to go through recruitment!
How can joining a sorority help me in the long run?
Being in a sorority brings you the friends and women that go beyond just your 4 years in college – they last a lifetime! Being apart of a sorority can also help prepare you for you later careers by always providing leadership and learning opportunities to everyone!
What is a good amount of letters of recommendation to have?
While Stephen F. Austin State University Panhellenic does not require you to have formal recommendations for each house, Alpha Chi Omega highly encourages it. A formal recommendation is the perfect opportunity for an Alpha Chi Omega Alumnae to introduce you to the chapter. Alpha Chi Omega Alumnae may access a direct link to the recommendation form via the Recruitment Tab at the top of this page, which will direct you to the Alpha Chi Omega National website.
